Rock Pedal is a Rock Band drum replacement for PS3. Rock Pedal hit the market on April 18th, 2008. Orders came in slowly for the first few days.

After about a week, word of mouth had spread and the orders came in a bit faster and on a more regular basis.

On May 1st, Cena (a popular reviewer for Rock Band products, especially drum pedals) put out a very glowing review about Rock Pedal–deeming it his very favorite Rock Band drum pedal on the market.

Of course, I was ecstatic about the positive review by Cena. But not even I expected the onslaught of Rock Pedal orders that was about to come. The far reach of Cena’s review coupled with a $7 discount we offered in conjunction with the review helped us set a record for most Rock Pedals sold in one day.

The bad news: We hadn’t planned for success. We only had some hundreds of pedals accounted for in the whole world. I called my supplier and found out the tragically, we wouldn’t be able to get more pedals for three and a half months–until late August.

Nooooooooo! I had to announce to the whole world that we wouldn’t be able to resume shipping until at least late August. A lot of people canceled their orders right away.

But many others kept theirs. They had done their research on all the different Rock Band drum pedals on the market, and they had quickly learned that Rock Pedal was the best.

I must say that I was really amazed (and surprised) by the reaction of all my customers. I would have thought I was going to get irate emails and phone calls, cursing me out, tell me where to go…if you know what I mean

But that didn’t happen. For the most part, everybody was real nice and understanding. I offered a small refund to all those that stuck with Rock Pedal…and me. I was really grateful.

Over the last four months, the orders continued to roll in. Word had definitely spread on the Internet and elsewhere that Rock Pedal really was the best Rock Band drum pedal on the market.

Don’t you just love living in the modern technology era where thousands of businesses fight each other on a daily basis to bring new technology into our lives, some of it useful and some of it quite bizarre.

Even just normal everyday objects seem to get a technology overhaul just as you were getting used to the latest technology, take the humble book for example.

Its gone from hardback to paperback but in the latest developments we saw the metamorphosis of the humble book as it went digital and the audio book was born.

Travesty shouted the bookworms of the world while those of us that just wished they had more time in the day were overjoyed with our new found ability to listen and learn on the go… what more could you ask for?

Fortunately technology moves on and now the humble book has yet another evolution and the true digital book has finally arrived, and I for one am delighted.

No longer will I be shackled to that other technology slave that lives in our house to read what seems like a never ending supply of PDF’s and e-books.

Nor will I ever need to print what seems like a forest just to get a hard copy of a document I want to read away from my computer.

And yes I can even read an e-book in the sun outside without having to strain my eyes to see the screen, oh joy of joys.

So as I go to and check out this latest marvel on the internet another technology catches my eye and I see that the ever so humble pillow (yes you heard me right the pillow) has been transformed through the miracles of modern technology into a pillow with built in speakers.

Oh is there no end to this orgasmic journey of discovery, heck, by this time next week I’ll be lying in my bed reading that PDF, whilst at the same time listening to those latest self development audio books on my new speaker pillow, and if I’m really lucky the massage mattress will have arrived as well!

I never thought the Kindel was hot. But this is really sexy…wish they made these e-readers in color.

TikiTags lets you link any device in the real world to a page online. So with tikitag you can take your NFC enabled phone and touch it to a tiki tag and it will launch a web player. This seems like a competitor to 2D/QR codes but I don’t think it will take off. It seems like a neat idea but with the lack of phone support and having to buy a usb device to enable tags it seems just to complicated. 2D/QR codes are easy to use and by 2009 many many phones in the US will come with pre-installed 2D code readers and will really open up the mobile marketing dollar.s
